The readme in the package explains in detail how to reinstall/upgrade with the expert install without affecting your database.

Ok, so I reinstalled CB the usual way and tested the 'new pm' notification in cb login module and also uddeIM notifier module with no success.
I checked the database in Tools Manager and there were no errors.
Now though, cb login mod is showing the following error message when you are logged in. (just at the bottom of the module position)
"Table \'timatsyd_main.mos_menu\' doesn\'t exist SQL=SELECT id FROM mos_menu WHERE published>=0 AND link LIKE \'%com_uddeim%\'"
Could this error possibly be related?

I would guess it is. Did you configure UddeIM and enable the plugin to integrate with CB?
