I thought 2.0 comes with a layout as presented here (slide 14):

The process from 1.x to 2.x is going to be gradual. This avoids complete migrations and loss of familiarity.

On that slide what you see on the left is a mock up of CB Activity, which is not done yet (current release just shows activity). The next release of CB Activity should look more like the mock up and at the least have basic text posting with activity commenting.

The right side of the slide is just the CB Menu plugin shown in the CB Content Module with some styling. I've already completely redone the menu styling to include fontawesome icons and to better utilize the API. Once the backend has been completely redone (with our XML library) we'll have an easy interface to add and manage CB Menu items instead of having to always be done through API calls.

We will be releasing CB on a much more steady basis. No more waiting a year or more for releases. Our plans are to be more consistent with releases and gradually implement more and more.
