Hi to all!

Is it possible to hide some fields or a tab from user edit menu but still leave them visible on user profile?

I tried making text field user read-only but that only makes it non-editable for users. However, users can still see the field in user edit and I would like that not to happen.

You're looking for the privacy plugin and/or the subscriptions plugin. Privacy is available to documentation subscribers now, and Subscription will be available very soon as a commercial release.

I did some research around joomlapolis and it seems to me that privacy plugin is just what I need. Therefore, I will purchase a documentation subscription in the near future.

On top of that, I would like to give something back to the people who made this component so useful and functional. I just installed it on my website a few days ago and I am astonished by it's capabilities and functions.

I'm also looking forward to participating in discussions on this forum and will be closely watching for new developments from your team. You have one hell of a component there, keep up the good work!

I'm not a developer, DinoCroc, but I test and do what I can in the forums to support them. I agree with you... they did a hell of a job on it.



PS - If privacy doesn't provide you with enough control, you'll love the Subscriptions Plugin... there isn't much it can't do!

Oh well, what would developers do if there were no testers?

I will check out the Subscriptions plugin, but it seems to me that, for the time being, privacy plugin will be enough for me. At least according to the info I collected reading through the articles...

Some updates here...

I purchased a documentation subscription and finally got my hands on the privacy plugin. While it works well for the fields, it doesn't work at all for my tabs. They still remain visible in the user edit menu.

I saw one other topic saying that this issue will be resolved in the next RC. Are there any updates on this one? When will next version be released?
