Make payment 'required' at registration was created by Thelowlandpiper
New users are registering without payment; how do we make payment 'required'?
(We have a subscription tab on the reistration form)
This is a recent problem (since upgrade to J5?)
Joomla 5.4.2

Create a plan that's marked Exclusive (makes it a radio input) then in CBSubs > Settings > Global set "Allow Free Registered Users (without subscriptions)" to "No". This would require a subscription to register. After they register they'll be immediately taken to the payment form to pay unless you've configured your plan to collect payment after approval or confirmation.

Thanks - I cannot understand how that setting came to be that way - this problem has only been current since the last months of last year

We are now seeing an error message 'Column 'gid' cannot be null' when a new user enters details and clicks 'sign up'. A record is created but the user is left on the registration form.

Enable debug mode and maximum error reporting in Joomla global configuration then retry. This should output a callstack to show where the error is coming from.

That column contains their usergroup ids. It shouldn't really be possible for it to be null unless there's a configuration problem somewhere. Within Users > Options > User Options be sure "New User Registration Group" is set correctly then click "Save & Close" and retry to see if that resolves your issue.

the gid field was set to refuse NULL; I have set it to allow 0; I am now getting to the subscription page, but only one of the plans is available; I have 4 plans all marked 'exclusive... but one mandatory'
I'm also not seeing any sign of confirmation or approval beng sent prior to payment, though these are set in the CB config (see attached)
I've been running this site using CB since 2016 without any of these issues - this seems to be a result of upgrading Joomla to 5.4.3?
