I love being able to 'break' and do the 'impossible'.  :)

This site has been up since J3, and it may have had some plugins, I will check around to see if maybe something that is there that is not playing nice.

I'm using yoothemepro, but that shouldn't be the issue, because I am able to get to the 'edit' page in some scenarios, so to me it means it is not an issue with the template...

I just tried something interesting...
1. When I go to a 'regular user', the url is: goongirl.org/cb-profile/1182-info-rytechsites-com
2. when I find myself, and go to my own user the url is: goongirl.org/cb-profile
These pages look different, so when I'm on my 'own' url it is as if the other part of the url isn't 'generating'.
3. Now I'm trying to MANUALLY put in my url: /goongirl.org/cb-profile/883-rytech123-gmail-com, still doesn't work

FYI, Please send Nick my best, I met him years ago in NJ at a User Group meeting.

Your URLs are correct. When viewing yourself it'll just be /cb-profile and won't append your user id or username. Be sure your /cb-profile and /cb-profile-edit menu items don't have an ID supplied as well. Since this was a J3 site migrated up it sounds like make sure you've replaced your htaccess file with the latest one provided by Joomla 5 as it might be a URL rewriting issue. If issue persists after doing so try turning SEO URLs off and see if you can now reach your profile edit.

Bingo!  When I turned off SEF URLS it worked!

So, should I replace the .htaccess with the most current .htaccess from joomla for 5.3.1?

thanks,
Laura

I found the issue!

1. I renamed htaccess.txt --> .htaccess
2. turned on SEF Rename
3. tested --> same issue
4. I looked around for plugins I found the CB System plugin was DISABLED, and did not have 'turn on sef rewrite on'
5. I ENABLED the plugin, and I set the sef rewrite to YES
6. NOw when I go to the menu item --> Edit my profile I go into edit mode!

Thank you for your patience!!!

I'm guessing the plugin was disabled when I did the initial upgrade between j3 and j4, and no one noticed... since the users really don't update their profiles...

Thanks,
Laura
