I have downloaded and installed the cb search module, but I have no clue, where to find it in the backend to use it. In the module list, it isn't shown.
Would be great, if someone could help in this case.
CB User Search is a Joomla smart search finder plugin. You'd just use normal Joomla smart search module and component. Be sure to configure the finder plugin in System > Plugins then run the smart search indexer. In the future it will auto index on user store/delete so running indexer manually isn't necessary to do regularly.

ah, thanks a lot, this is working fine
just another question regarding the search module: I was able to implement it on the website, but the search result is always null. As far as I can see, it is only finding loged in user, but I need a list of all users including where they are. The search function should be searching for: the name, the postcode, the city or the country. Is this possible somehow?
The smart search can index whatever fields you need it to. Edit the plugin and select what fields it should index then run the smart search indexer again.
