Hi Kyle/Nick,

I am not sure, but hope someone can assist as not sure if it's a CBsubs thing or Joomla related: Basically, I am trying to ensure each page that could appear on the site has a "controlled" appearance with their own styling etc. and using the "Default" template as a fallback.

But what I am experiencing is that certain pages seem to "define" their own page as they do not even use the default template for page styling. The below path shows the latest one to appear not using the default template or any one I have assigned to other pages (as I do not have a menu item for this specific page so I cannot assign a template direct to it as it does not show up in the backend template section).

The pages that seem to avoid the "default" template are pages that seem to have no direct menu access and are related to CB Subs which unlike CB you do not have any direct menu items to assign templates to.

I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to locate these pages so I can assign a specific template to them rather than have them randomly assign templates for themselves. This particular link even assigned a background image that has no relevance to the page it is displaying. Which is all the more reason why I need to "control" page displays.

BELOW is the latest page link to show up without the default template when I clicked on a users profile name link when trying to open a Uddeim message in the inbox. It has happened in various places before but because the site is still under-construction I have in the past over-looked it.

membership/subscriptions/userprofile

Thanks
Fuquan

Joomla template assignment is 100% based off Itemid, which is based off Joomla menu items. First you need to disable SEF. Without doing so you won't be able to see Itemids in the URLs, which will make menu item matching difficult. Once done navigate to a URL you want to have a specific template. Next check the Itemid in its URL. Now match that ID against its Joomla menu item. Now that you know the menu item you can assign a template to that menu item in Joomla template manager. If there is no menu item then please provide the non-SEF URL with the domain omitted.

Dear Kyle,

Thanks for the provided feedback. But could I just ask does this menu matching method work for the latest version of Joomla (3.4)? As if I recall well I think that has changed in the newer versions.

As what I have in the template manger is auto displayed Menu Items (which I guess are generated from the menu manager) all you do is "select" (check) from the available menu items. (See Attachment) Hence why it is difficult to assign a template as I cant find a way to do so.

Thanks
Idris

The usage is still the same. The menu items in your screenshot are generated by CB on install to ensure CB has all of its needed menu items on a clean install. They can be deleted, new menu items added, etc.. by default those don't display anywhere and are just there for their Itemid. You need to use the method above in my previous reply to determine what menu item you need to select as the Itemid maybe not what you're expecting. To assign a template to a menu item you edit a template in Extensions > Template Manager > Menu Assignment and check the checkbox of the various menu items as needed.
