Hi,
Is there a way to give a different template to groups, depending on their category. I am looking for something like CB template changer but than for GroupJive.

The entire frontend is template driven and the templates are PHP based. It is doable, but you'll need to write the code for it. You'd have to edit the group template and have it to a group id check to determine what other template php file to include and return.
