CBSubs: Right payment for right time in calendar year subscription

8 years 9 months ago #267186 by Andromeda57
Hey guys!

We have a subscription for calendar year. It costs 100 € for every calendar year.

But the subscriber should pay the right price, for the time he is having the subscription. For example: A user registers on the first day in november 2015.. So, the user should pay for 2 months in 2015 and not for all months in 2015...

How can we realize that?

CBSubs doesn't have a dynamic price adjustment like that. You can however give them free time if they subscribe near the end of the year by using the "Bonus time before first period start (for calendar-based durations)" parameter under the pricing tab. For example if set to 2 months and they subscribe in November they'll get November and December free while paying for next year.

It also maybe possible to do what you're wanting using a promotion to automatically discount the subscription if it's between November and December for example.

You can use promotions for that, probably using a query field which calculates the remaining time from begin of year for the discount.

I have also seen a site using 3 promotions for 3 different discounts for last 3 months of the year.
