Welcome Email- gets sent twice

Welcome Email- gets sent twice was created by cagoffice
Hello,

Under CB> Configuration> Registration, I made a customized email for "Welcome Email".

However this email gets sent to the user twice:
1.) First time it gets sent is after the moderator approves them (the email prompts them to login and pay)
2.) Second time it gets sent is after the user pays

How do I get it to only send after the moderator approves them. I don't want them to receive it after payment as I have another one coming from the CBSubs plan itself.

Yup, the double sending of the welcome email is a known issue. However the welcome email isn't mandatory. Mainly just the Pending one is if you've confirmation or you want to email their password. The Welcome email you could opt to not use at all and instead use the activation emails under the presentation tab of your plans so it only sends when the plan is active.

But the Welcome email is what prompts them to pay. Without it, how would they know they have been approved by the moderator and need to log in to pay?

You maybe able to try "Email on pending first payment" under the Presentation tab of your plan as a replacement, but other than that I don't have any further workaround to suggest.

Email on pending first payment is when they click "offline payment" for their payment method. That won't work.

Hmmmm it's very strange this email gets sent twice. One before payment and one after payment.

It's just the way it was designed. It's sending the welcome email twice on purpose, but we've a ticket to improve the email behavior to avoid this in a later release. I don't really have anything further to suggest at this time though.
