Hello,

I have an field (Multiple Checkbox) with about 130 values.
For some reason I need the same field with all values twice (separate selections for different profile types).

So I have copied the whole field with all its values.
After trying to edit fieldname for example, i get forwarded to backend control page after clicking on save button.

could you please help me to figure out what's wrong there?

That's a massive amount of values for a select type field. Does the original field have the same behavior? Any errors being output with debug mode and maximum error reporting configured in Joomla global configuration? You can reuse the same field for profile types as you could condition it with CB Conditionals based off profile type so you don't have to duplicate it.

yes, both original and copied field do the same after trying to save.

there are no errors shown in debug mode. it seems like my request is simply cancelled for some reason.


what do you mean with the reusage of the field?


what i need:
- I have 2 profiletypes (A and F).
- The Multiple Select field contains about 130 values (a list of all available occupations)
- Profile A can select one or more values for "I'm interested in..."
- Profile F can select one or more values for "We offer..."

Next step is a comparison for search list to get profile matches between what A is interested an F is offering.

So I think I need this field with all its values twice. Once for each profiletype. Is it right?


Before that I tried to just "rename" the Field for each profiletype with field layout. But I haven't understood how to get this. Also I'm not really sure to be able to compare the selected values later by this way.


Do you have any ideas?

Yeah, sounds like you need the same field duplicated since you want 2 completely different usages for them.

Most likely you're hitting POST/input limits. Within System > System Information > PHP Information check the following values.

max_input_nesting_level
max_input_time
max_input_vars
post_max_size

Your limits look ok. Ensure debug mode and maximum error reporting are configured in Joomla global configuration (it's important both are configured) then repeat your issue and check server error log for any errors.
