Fatal error: Call to a member function bind() on null

We receive numerous successful membership subscriptions on our website every week and have for many years, using Community Builder and CBSubs. But recently we have a couple of visitors who cannot successfully submit membership registration forms. When they click the submit button, they get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function bind() on null in /home/wwoofjap/www/www/main/administrator/components/com_comprofiler/library/cb/cb.tables.php on line 1886

We know that at least one of these people is using the Chrome browser, if that has any significance. Can you help us identify what might be causing this problem?

That file doesn't have anything in it. It's completely empty as it's a legacy file to prevent includes from causing fatal errors in older CB integrations. Ensure CB and everything else installed is completely up to date.
