Got this error. Try to reinstall as well and got same error.

System Information
Joomla: 4.4.1
Community Builder: 2.9.1
PHP: 8.1.27
Database: mysql 5.7.44-48-log

Looks like it's due to the SQL version (internally we're on MySQL 8 now) and need to add the table alias to that delete query. Have released a new build with table alias added. Please try updating again with the new build (it will resume at the migration so no worries!).

Thank you Krileon. I am shopping for a new hosting company that supports MySQL 8. There not too many of them around. It seems like most of them have been configured with MySQL 5.x and their shared hosting plans cannot be changed without compromising the legacy websites that host which are in the 1,000s. I will find one or build a server. When do you expect the new release of CB for MySQL 8?

You don't need to update to MySQL 8. We just don't test MySQL 5.7 specifically anymore. I just don't have the time as I already have to test 3 versions of Joomla, lol.

A new build release of CB Activity 6.0.0 is already released that should fix that query on MySQL 5.7. Please try updating again.

If you're still unable to update to latest build release please PM backend super user login credentials and will take a look. It does appear this is a bug in MySQL 5.7 going back to 2018 that was never fixed until 8.0, but the workaround in latest build release should work.
