CB Privacy - cannot see "users" as an option was created by markfajgenbaum
Hi there Support.  sorry to bother but I've tried hard to work this out and i'm stumped. In CB Privacy Plugin >> Parameters >> Rules, I have enabled: Public, Users, Private, Connections, Connections of Connections, etc (access set to "Public" for all these options).  However, when i navigate to the Privacy Tab (simple), the drop down menu provides all the enabled options EXCEPT for "users".  I have no idea why?

Using latest CB nightly build on Joomla 5.0.3, php8.3.  Thank you for any pointers you can provide,

best, Mark

Users is only available if profiles are able to be visible to the public (see CB > Configuration > User Profile > Profile View Access Level). If they are not it will be hidden and in that context Public is basically all other Users. This will eventually be changed in a future release though as it's too confusing making it dynamic like that.

thanks Kyle - it works now. it would be good to change in future; i would suggest the following: if only registered users are allowed to view profiles, then the "public" option would disappear from privacy selection, but the "users" option would remain (opposite of current behaviour). this is because the present scenario is confusing for users; if your community is set up to only allow users to see profiles, members seeing the "public" option on privacy selection will think that the general public can view their profile.

thanks again for your awesome support

In the future the Users option won't be conditional on that CB configuration parameter. That was implemented before you could configure each privacy option enabled/disabled, but now that you can there's no reason to condition Users anymore.
