Can not manage to charge tax (CbSubs) was created by liaskas
Hello...

following the bellow post, i have set things up, so that vat is charged to cbsubs orders.

www.joomlapolis.com/forum/developer-members-support/247421-cbsubs-urgent-issue

Not possible to make it work. This is not the first time we set things up with cbsubs, but this case is killing us! No matter what we do... tax is not  added to the card at all.

I desperately need your advise.

Joomla 5.4
Community builder 2.11.0
CbSubs 4.9.0

It is not that the wrong tax is charged... there is no tax at all...

Thank you

Does the tax apply if you apply a tax rule to all geographic locations of customers? If so then there's probably an issue with it trying to match a geographic customer location to the tax rule. Please PM backend super user login credentials (see link in signature) and will review your configuration first thing tomorrow and for now will replicate the configuration in your other topic and verify again that geographic taxing is working as expected.

I have set Default Customer Country = Bulgaria in "General plugin settings" Tax tab, tested and no tax is charged again.
Our goal is to charge each EU user with the tax of their country.

Backend credentials sent.

Ok, I've tested this locally as working fine. It can be a bit confusing, but Tax Rules cannot be stacked basically. When you've multiple tax rules the Default is always prioritized unless the plan has a tax rule configured to override the default.

You appear to have configured tax rules in all of your plans, but maybe not in the best way. All of your published plans, but 3 have "European Countries" selected. The remaining 3 have "Not subject to sales tax" selected. "Not subject to sales tax" is set as your default. I recommend setting the default tax rule to "European Countries" then in your plans where it is selected set it to utilize the default.

Following that your biggest issue is your Geographic Zones are empty. Navigate to CBSubs Tax > Geographic Zones. Notice how all but 2 of your entries have nothing under "Geographic Zone Entries"? Those define what is a part of that Geographic Zone. So for example the "Denmark" geographic zone in your install applies to nothing.

To fix this click "EDIT ENTRIES" for an empty geographic zone. Now click "Create New". Now select that geographic zone in the "Geographic Zone" parameter. Then select the country in "Country (mandatory)". Leave "State / Province" and "Zip Codes" as "All". Then click Save. Do this for each of your Geographic Zones. Your country specific tax rates should then apply perfectly fine.

It worked like a charm! Thank you.

Now another related question... Is there a way to pass the vat details to paypal, so that paypal shows the subscription amount and vat on client's receipt?

Thank you.

We do pass tax to PayPal's API, but we've no control over whether PayPal displays it or not.
