CB Gallery - custom limit can be bypassed

My environment:
Joomla:             5.x
CB:                    2.11.0+build.2026.01.12.21.55.56.a25ef0f6c
CB Gallery:         3.0.1+build.2026.02.10.18.55.16.71b636f86

I made the following settings & configuration:

 

 

 


Issue
According to my testscenario the custom limit of '8' can be bypassed using the following test scenario:

1. Upload / Share Media 1 single image
2. Repeat Step 1 until 7 images are uploaded
3. Click on  Upload / Share Media again
4. Now select 2 images simultanously an drag them into the upload area
5. Fill up title for both images an click on Save
6. As a result you have now 9 uploaded images. But the limit was 8.

Does it ever go past 9? It might just be a +1 issue in the math.

Ok, was able to confirm. It does only seam to +1, but ONLY if your drag and drop. It's due to the uploads happening simultaneously and the database hasn't caught up with the number of uploads. Am working on a fix. Thank you for letting us know!

Ok, this is fixed in latest CB Gallery build release. Fix isn't ideal since it turns on sequential uploads so if you're uploading 100 files for example it'll take a little bit more time since it can't upload 4-5 files at once now, but this lets the database catch up to verify create limits better. In a future release will improve this further so simultaneous uploads can be enabled again.
