CbSubs usecase was created by liaskas
Hello, we are using CbSubs for many years and everything is working great.

There is one thing that we can not figure out how to accomplish.

On our site, there are cases that we need to manualy extend the Active subscription period for some users and we do so through CB Paid Subscriptions -> Edit Subscriptions. But when we extend their subscription they are not notified!

We need a way to inform the affected users by mail when their subscription is extended, like they do when they activate a new subscription.

There is no relative setting inside the plans configuration, so we wonder if it can be done with an auto action.

Can you please tell us if it is possible and how?

Thank you.

Are you wanting to just give them a renewal or are you extending the subscription duration by an unknown amount? Editing subscriptions directly does not trigger any integration logic so correct that won't send emails. Typically to renew them by force you'd just edit them in CB > User Management and tick the renew option then save their profile, which should trigger all standard renewal logic.

If their subscription ends in 2 or 3 days, we are giving them 7 more days when they help the community by publishing their articles.
We add more free days in their active subscription if they have one.

That might be more complicated then since there's no real functionality to arbitrarily extend subscriptions without the direct edit approach and that doesn't trigger any logic. What logic might work is CBSubs Mailer, but you'd have to setup something like sending an email X days before expiring instead of sending an email when you add time to their subscription. How frequently is this happening? If not very frequently you could just send them an email using CB > User Management > Mass Mailer by selecting them and sending the email from there or are you specifically wanting it to send the renewal email?

Thank you for your reply Krileon.
Actually we need to send such mails on a daily basis. The logic in our community is... "the more you participate, the more you get".
I will see if it can be done with a cronjob and php comparing the dates stored in subscriptions.

You could setup CBSubs Mailer to send an email every day up to 7 days before expiring. Would that work maybe?
