The new PayPal gateway hasn't released yet. We'll announce its release when available. It should be coming this week. When released all the previous gateways will have a notice at the top noting they're discontinued so it'll be clear which you should use at that point. The new gateway will also just be included with core CBSubs and won't require a separate download.

A new build release of CBSubs is now available. The PayPal rest implementation is just called "PayPal" with the legacy PayPal gateway being renamed to "PayPal (NVP/SOAP)" so it's clear it's using legacy API. "PayPal (NVP/SOAP)", "PayPal (Advanced)", and "PayPal (Pro)" all have a notice at the top that they're deprecated as well.

You'll have to create a new PayPal gateway, the API credentials at PayPal, then you can enable Venmo support at PayPal and within the gateway.

Kyle - thanks for the API work.
I added, configured, and enabled the new PayPal gateway.  
When attempting to checkout, it throws an error "Submitted checkout request didn't return an error but didn't complete. Please contact site administrator to check error log.",
There are no log entries on the PayPal side.

Attempting to checkout with Venmo or with a regular PayPal payment? Enable debug mode and maximum error reporting then retry and it should log the request to PayPal so you can see what error PayPal is responding with.

Looks like that was a recurring payment attempt. Those can only be made with PayPal accounts and they require HTTPS for their redirect URLs otherwise it will be rejected.
