The login module opens inside an article tied directly to a Gantry menu item. In this situation, the Joomla "Sign-in with a passkey" button does not appear anywhere on the login page. Google Gemini believes it's because of HTML stripping being done as a security measure, and I went round and round with it for well over an hour and did not arrive at a solution. So I thought I'd inquire here how this is SUPPOSED to work.
How do I use Joomla's passkey MFA with the CB Login module?
Thanks in advance.

We don't handle that behavior at all. That's entirely handled by Joomla using an API call to the following function.
Code:
AuthenticationHelper::getLoginButtons

This matches Joomla's own login module as well. So my guess is it's probably not designed to be rendered inside of articles. Try assigning the module to the page the article is on instead of embedding it in the article.

No matter what I tried I couldn't get it to work. I'm assuming it's still best, if not required, to use CB's login module and not Joomla's?

Does it display fine if it's not embedded in a Joomla article? Does Joomla's login module display it fine? Yes, it's recommended to use CB's login module. It is not required since by default CB's system plugin will intercept the login POST and send it to CB instead of through Joomla unless turned off.

No, I was unable to get it to work when the module was positioned on the same page as a test article. I have not tried using the Joomla login module because I prefer how the CB registration process works.

Give the Joomla login module a try just to see if it's rendering fine there. If it's not then it's unlikely a CB issue and rather an issue with Joomla probably missing a configuration somewhere.
