requirements

This question may have been asked before, and if so - I apologize (I did not see it)

I am a newbie and beg your forgiveness if these are dumb questions.

As far as requirements you list OpenSSL, cURL, and ionCube. It looks as if my current host supports cURL, they're unsure of what I might need for OpenSSL and state that I can download and install the binaries for ionCube.

Is there documentation that covers what these do (OpenSSL & ionCube) and how to install ionCube binaries - and which ones to install?

Is open SSL required if you use Paypal as your method of payment?

Thanks!

The requirements are correct. If you host is unaware what or how to add OpenSSL (standard on nearly all hosts) then I do suggest finding a more reliable and experienced host (Joomlapolis does hosting as well, which is fully compatible with CBSubs).

ionCube
is just a matter of installing the binaries, which are provided by ionCube . They also provide a tutorial as well as code to test ionCube is loaded.

OpenSSL is a PHP module, which is generally just enabled inside of PHP.ini, but will not work if the host does not have the module at all.
