Some of what I planned to do, may not be feasible in regards to download limits for the paid members, so i am thinking of changing it to unlimited downloads.

Can you recommend a good extension for photo galleries? Im using Joomla 1.6

4 levels of membership, one being free and want to separate the content. I understand I can separate content by each plan. Is it possible to have folder restriction per user? It's a surf photography website, most of the members know me or know of me, so there are times I know exactly who I am shooting and want to be able to have folders that are for only their viewing.

Sorry, none come to mind. As far as I am aware many developers have yet to finish moving to Joomla 1.6 if they plan to move at all that is.

Is it possible to have folder restriction per user?

If you used folder access protection integration (please review documentation closely, it has requirements) and had a CBSubs plan for each user then yes. Otherwise you should probably just create htaccess protection files for each folder for each user manually instead of creating a subscription plan for each user.

It also depends on what you're using for photos. If the photo extension supports private photos then that'd also work, but I can't say what all features the available photo extensions would have; please check Joomla.org.
