I would like to add some plain text to the user edit page, something that will be visible regardless of what tab they are on.
Either that, or plain text in the tab that does not appear on the profile itself. In the tab edit, it says "Description: This description appears only on user edit, not on profile (For profile text, use delimiter fields):" but the text there still shows up on the profile. My users don't seem to be seeing the tooltip area so I'd like to have some help text be more prominent.

Best way to add text to profile edit is using delimiter fields. For the text to not display on profile ensure it's set to not display on profile. You can further add text that displays regardless of tab by editing the default CB template PHP file and altering the edit profile display. Simply add content to _renderEdit before the content render echo.
