We need to take action in another component when a group is unpublished or re-published. Can you suggest if there is any trigger or action we can access?

Sure, below trigger is what you'll need.
gj_onAfterUpdateGroupState
Variables for said trigger as follows.
function( $group, $category, $user, $plugin ) {
You'll need to use CB API of course to access the trigger just as you would inside of a CB plugin.
