In addition to the previous comments, a little further test reveals that administrator notifications (set in Kunena Configuration, under Security) are sent out. However, as I stated previously, normal subscription notifications still seem to be blocked by GJ.

Thanks Krileon, this is hugely important to me. My site membership is new at this and notifications is key to actually getting them to check their groups and participate.
