got it working thanks

the only issue is the data is a pure prefix, is there any way to add say a \r or \n ( carriage return or new line? ) before the value [var3_cb_bankref] to enable it to be displayed using [cb:userfield field="cb_bankrefhistory" /] on a new line in a text area field in a field delimiter? any attempt to do so is removed upon applying the change

thankyou

Don't understand what you're asking. The way it's implemented it will store the previous value to the bankrefhistory field. It's not a list of values like you're wanting. I suppose you could do the following (ensure field is a textareaeditor).

Value: [cb_bankref]<br />[cb_bankrefhistory]
