Hi

The new member avatars works fine, until a user logs in.
After which it disappears and a red X appears.

When the user clicks a page, the avatars re appear and all works well.

how can i get it not to disappear when user logs in?

Don't understand the question. You're viewing a users profile while logged out and the avatar displays? You then login and it displays as if the image src is missing? Sounds like a caching problem. If Joomla cache is enabled, disable it and purge the cache then see if issue persists.

a user visits home page; he can see avatars
user logs in avatars disappear
user clicks on another page avatar re-appears

cache have been cleaned, purged and global checkin and problem still persists

What CB page specifically does avatars not show? What CB page specifically does avatars show? The page that they do not show is possibly changing live_site resulting in the paths being wrong.
