[#5422] 'Messages' Tab with Comments Field no avatar display

Hello CB, I'm running latest everything.

I have a problem with a 'Messages' Tab I have and the display of an Avatar on my Comment Field.

Case: when user logs in they are directed to: index.php?option=com_comprofiler&view=userprofile and attachment 1 is seen i.e. no avatar BUT when they click the Menu Item 'Profile Page' - directed to same url, it shows just fine attachment 2.

Just another point is that when a user that doesn't have this 'Messages' Tab on their profile visits someone that does - attachment 1 applies - no avatar thumbnails.

NB, this is not activity stream but tab with comment field.

Hoping there's a simple solution. Any tips advice?

Avatar display in CB Activity is entirely based off getFields API response from the avatar field. Ensure it's on a public and published tab and that the avatar field is set to display on profile. Your login redirect URL should also include the Itemid of your existing public and published Joomla menu item to CBs profile page as Joomla could be causing issues with the live site paths to the avatar images.

Thanks Kyle. (This is avatar display in comment field not activity)

Portrait tab is public and published. Avatar field is published. I set the 'Messages' tab to public - was registered.

I set CB Activity to Public- was registered. I set the Menu item to Public - was registered. Still doesn't work.

If menu id is: 123. What url would I put in instead?

Press F12 to open the developer console. Now cause your issue and review the Console tab to see if there's a bunch of missing image errors. Seams like the path to the images is missing or broken and can cause what you're experiencing. Ensure live_site in configuration.php of Joomla root is set to '' (empty) as well. If you've caching enabled ensure you've purged the cache.

If menu id is: 123. What url would I put in instead?

Add &Itemid=123 to the URL.

Thanks again Kyle. It is half fixed, the less important half unfortunately. Adding the &Itemid= fixed when the user with this tab logs in - the display is fine. Great thanks :-)

If a regular user logs in (doesn't have this tab, but is connected to the user that does) and visits the profile - with this tab showing, the avatars are broken still.
Url here is: http://mydomain/cb-profile/userprofile/username

Config.php shows: public $live_site = ''; so seems fine.

Console: attachment 1 errors there alright. Site permission a user can view if connected to. No idea what they mean.

Purge cache regularly with useful extension.

Hopefully you have one last bit of magic to throw at the situation!

Looks like a fatal error for the jQuery binding of the stream. I don't see how that's possible though as the stream loads the jQuery and binds it on display. Please PM backend super administrator login credentials and will take a look. Please include instructions to duplicate your issue exactly.
