[SOLVED] CB Auto Action question

Would the following be possible using Auto Action :

When you have an open group I would like to trigger a post inside the activity feed

When you have a closed or approval group I dont want to trigger a post inside the activity feed

so basically just an activity feed on specific groups would work already

You're wanting to log activity on group create based off group type? Yes, that's possible. You can condition against the groups variables. For example [var1_type] on the group create trigger.

Dont think we mean the same

From an existing open group I want the activity feed to be triggered
from an exisitng closed(or approval) group I wantt the activity feed not to be triggered

and I'm looking for some more info on what and how to do this

Are you trying to add new activity or are you talking about the activity built into CB Auto Actions? With GJ 3.x and latest CB Auto Actions nightly the activity will always log, but GJ controls its access so users can't see activity of groups they can't access. If you want activity to only log for a specific group type you have to add conditions to your actions (see my previous reply).

the first option would work already, so let me download the nightly for auto actions and see if it does what I have in mind.

the second option might make sense as well, but only in specific cases.

Ok tested it (with GJ3, just released and latest autoaction nightly) but from where I stand it doesn't work, or I totally misunderstand the functionality

so : Got a group, which is approval only type
admin (joep) post inside the wall (and logs out)

Regular member (John logs in) he is not a member of this group
In the general Activity feed from John the wall post shows up (which I would not expect to happen)

and If John goes to this group, he can actually see the wall, file, event content and (he can even download the file which is there, which is also something I would not expect to happen.
as there are also forum post down here, which he cannot see is what I would expect to happen with the other tabs as well

So where is my mistake in thinking ?

I am only using standard auto actions here, nothing special
