Hi Guys.
I wish to enable two-factor authentication A) for the back end only, and

for selected users only.
Having turned it on briefly to test, I now can's stop the Secret Key field from displaying in CB Login, even though I have disabled it for all users.
It appears that you cannot use it with the Google Authenticator 'backend only' setting, and that once turned on, you can not prevent the somewhat confusing front end field from displaying.
I have cleared cache, reset the browser and flushed everything, so I suspect this is being stored somewhere by CB.
Can you please help and advise.

CB has nothing to do with backend login. So that would be entirely dependent on Joomla supporting this. CB has no parameter to turn off the authenticator in its module as that's entirely dependent on an authenticator beig enabled or not. Joomla has the same behavior.
