Is there any way to get comments to show in the CB Activity for groups that the member is a part of?

No, not yet. The GJ Wall is not an activity stream. Once GJ Stream is developed to replace it it will be rendering an actual CB Activity stream.

Also is there anyway to get the CB Activity to update without reloading the screen?

No, that functionality is not implemented yet.
