I have a new site and imported all users and subscriptions including the expired ones. If someone membership that has expired by 60 days should be directed to their account for renewal. They should not be able to just login and have full access to the site's restricted areas that are for members only. How can I correct this?

Within CBSubs > Settings > Global ensure you've disabled free registrations without subscriptions. This will cause expired users on login to be blocked and asked to renew.
