What is the hierarchy of users was created by abuahassan
Hello,

I would like to allow moderators to be able to change profile of other users but I don't know the hierarchy of users as my moderators are not allowed to do this. With settings set as per the video (tutorial), only the super users are allowed. The error msg: Only higher-level users have this power. is shown. Can you show me the hierarchy of users?

What am I doing wrong can you guide me to the area that I can correct this?

CB Moderators can't edit users with higher ACL than them. That's the only restrictions applied to them. Example as follows.

Public
- Registered
- - Moderator <- CB Moderator
- - - Admin

In the above example the Moderator can not edit Admin. Moderator profile editing also needs to be enabled within CB > Configuration > Moderation.

Thank you for your reply,

I have been trying to understand your statement of 'higher ACL' than say a cb moderator and am still unclear.

CB moderator view having groups of Superusers and CB moderator has a higher ACL than say a 'student ACL' having member groups of Superusers, CB moderators and students?

For the above case CB moderator View, I would have thought it would be a higher ACL than that of student ACL.

Hierarchy indications are indeed shown on the user groups, shouldn't these be the hierarchy?

The core Joomla usergroups for Moderator and Administrator are above all Registered users. The core Joomla usergroup Super Users is above everyone. If you made new usergroups they have no place in this inheritance so you need to configure it as necessary. Example as follows.

Public
- Manager
- - Administrator
- Registered
- - Author
- - - Editor
- - - - Publisher
- Super Users

The above is core Joomla. If you added new usergroups you would have for example the below usage.

Public
- Manager
- - Administrator
- Registered
- - Student
- - - Moderator
- - Author
- - - Editor
- - - - Publisher
- Super Users

This means Moderator has power over Student and Registered only. They have no moderator power over Author, Editor, etc..
