[SOLVED] Question about CB Gallery and CBSubs use case

Hello...

Here is my case and i hope someone can help me!

2 member plans

1. Plain mamber (User Group: registered, Viewing Access Level¨registered, Fine controled by CBSubs plan activation)
2. Silver member (User Group: registered+, Viewing Access Level¨registered+, Fine controled by CBSubs plan activation)

First plan. Plain mamber
We need to allow "plain members" to view and upload images. Just images, no video no music no nothing.

So far it is easy to do!

Second plan. Silver member
We need to allow "Silver members" to view and upload images, videos, music, etc.

This one is impossible with one tab, because silver members restriction can be set only for the upload of videos and not for viewing the videos in the CB Gallery plugin and Tab. (If i am wrong here please point me to the right way)

So our next option (hope) is to make this work by substituting the CB Gallery Tab.

A. Moved the CB Gallery Tab to a "not visible in profile" place.
B. Created a substitution field for Plain mambers and another one for Silver members.
C. Created 2 tabs, one for every substitution field and they both showed fine on the profiles.

Now...

Question 1. How will we now set the "plain members" substitution tab, to be able to...
View and create albums
View and create (upload) images
Nothing else!

Question 2. How will we now set the "silver members" substitution tab, to be able to...
View and create albums
View and create (upload) images
View and create videos
View and create (upload or link) videos
View and create music
View and create music

There is no media type display view access level configuration. Only create. There will not be a view access level for the display of media types; that's too much access controls overlapping and becomes impossible to optimize, sorry.

The best way you can accomplish this is have multiple profile galleries using the gallery fieldtype and each with a different access permission based off what they display then having access controls on that field using CB Conditional or CB Privacy.

Regarding your 2 usecases if you disregard the display view access level usage all you need to do is either globally or specifically for the gallery tab adjust the create view access level parameters for albums, videos, files, photos, and music.

I set it to "displayed" and it worked fine.

Ok.

Followed your advise and created the gallery fieldtype that is supposed to show in "tab 1".
The problem now is that it does not show the images but gives the message that this gallery is currently empty.

I suppose that something is wrong with the asset field of the new gallery fieldtype.

Can you please tell me what exactly i should write in the asset field to get the CB Gallery photos ?

If you left asset empty for a field usage then it's unique to that field. You'll need to set asset to displayed, user, or profile.[user_id].
