Can I have individual validation messages on each field (standard and custom) in the registration form if the entered data is incorrect or missing, e.g. "Enter a valid discount code"?
No, the required validation error is not field specific. Best I can suggest is use REGEXP to create a custom validation rule then you can supply a custom validation message with it. This can be done by editing your field within CB > Field Management then under Parameters > Validation adjust "Authorized input" as needed which then should display "Error in case of invalid input" to specify your message.
