Nightly CB Builds

Personal gripe: I don't normally and don't wish to ever install what appear to be nightly builds or beta test software. If we're going from a complete version (2015) to an updated version (2016), fine. Now, I need to update CB on a daily basis for one site while the others, still at "2015", await the next full release.

Gripe over.

We use rapid development here now. We release builds and once a build has enough changes we'll version it. CB 2.1 in fact is about to release. If you don't want to stay up to date and have cutting edge features then don't install builds and wait for a versioned release. You're not forced to update and you can turn off the update notifications if they're bugging you. Versioned releases is an old and outdated release schedule. A build release is tested just as much as a version release now.

For my gripe I find it utterly confusing why anyone would be upset over us making steady progress.

I have not objected to anyone making "steady progress." What I find objectionable is multiple, almost daily, demands that the onsite implementation be updated and there's not either a change log that explains new or improved functions or the ability to download and install the update directly from Joomla.

There you have detailed list of things done each day with next nightly containing the new feature or bug fix.
Regarding installing nightly updates directly from Joomla's updater that's something that we have on our todo list for next year, using Joomla update channels.

That said, CB 2.1 will be released next days. Make sure to update to it and you won't be notified of any upgrades until CB 2.1.1 release.

There's no daily demand for you to update. You can turn off the update checker if you don't want to see the notifications in backend. Before we provide support yes we request you install the latest build to ensure what you're posting about hasn't already been fixed, but that's at support and not requested of anyone daily.

As Beat provided though we've a public forge for all our products except CBSubs where you can monitor progress from release to release.
