Does cbquery have the ability to look at 2 databases at the same time? Have a membership system on the same server but in a different database. The joomla username matches the membership_id on the external database and I'd like to show the corresponding expiration date from the external db.

Use External mode to query an external database then use substitutions to substitute in information about the user from the current database. See the below regarding substitutions usage information.
