Hi Kyle,
the phone uploads photos the wrong way around (photos that have been taken side-ways). I am guessing that is because the phone was held "the wrong way" around when taking the photo (since it was side ways) Any way to make it upload photos the right way up (even if the photo was taken "upside down")?
Nope, not unless the orientation was stored in the EXIF data. However, EXIF orientation will not work if you're using client side resizing as CB Gallery currently can not pass that data along to the browser generated image object (it may not ever be able to; still looking into it).
