this is not an error but a design issue so far.
When a user points into a field to select one or additional value tooltip is triggered and hides the update/cancel buttons.
Well user may additionally point outside the selection window to get this disappear ... which is an extra step.
Pic attached demonstrates issues with iPhone 5 and "Query Multiple" field.
There's no where else to display the tooltip. I guess you could just not add a description to the input. You can add the description as flat text next to or under the input using the Layout parameters if you like. Example as follows.
