Sorting issue

I have an issue with Swedish characters ÅÄÖ not sorting properly.
In User lists, it sorts like this at  the moment:
AÅÄBCD... MNOÖPQ...
but it should be:
ABCD....MNOPQ....XYÅÄÖ

The database collation is utf8mb4_general_ci
I have checked all CB tables with CB Tools
Latest nightly build of CB
Joomla 3.10.11 

I´m out of ideas what to look for.
Any suggestions?

Sorting is entirely handled by SQL. We don't apply any PHP side sorting. So whatever behavior you experience is how SQL decides to sort something. You can adjust the ORDER BY clause of the query directly by using Advanced Sorting if you need to customize the query.

Ok, thanks.

I have tested to create an article list in Joomla Articles, and it also sorts wrong.
No idea why, this site has eworked correctly for years.

Obviously not CB related then.
