Potential website users of our site - all U.S. Navy veterans - are receiving this error notice when they attempt to register using the CB Sign Up form:
"Your registration attempt has been blocked. Reason: Spam."
Site Info:
  • Joomla 5.0.2
  • PHP 8.2.13
  • MySQLi 10.6.16-MariaDB
  • Community Builder 2.9.1+build.2024.01.11.19.38.24.c604a3042
We use jCaptcha (v j4-1.7.3) and it is configured for use in the Global Configuration. The CB AntiSpam plugin (v 501)is configured to use Mode - JOOMLA; hCaptcha is not included for specific use in this plugin (although Google ReCaptcha modes v2, v3, and Invisible are listed in "Modes".
Again, I'm stumped. I welcome your suggestions.

That's a CB AntiSpam block. You've a block rule configured in CB AntiSpam that's blocking them. Review your CB AntiSpam configuration carefully.

That's a CB AntiSpam block. You've a block rule configured in CB AntiSpam that's blocking them. Review your CB AntiSpam configuration carefully.

 
Interesting. I have carefully reviewed CB AntiSpam configuration - it's configured to use the captcha configured in the site General Configuration, which is hCaptcha. There are no specific "how-to" configuration instructions available in Documentation and the cb-200 Primer document is silent on the matter.

Blocks are configured in CB AntiSpam > Blocks. There's various Auto Blocking functionality that's all configured in CB AntiSpam > Parameters. It's possible you turned on failed registration auto blocking under CB AntiSpam > Parameters > Registration > Auto Block, which blocks users temporarily for failing registration too many times. All of this is disabled by default so at some point it was turned on by you or another administrator.

CB AntiSpam > Parameters > Registration > Auto Block...All of this is disabled by default so at some point it was turned on...

Okay, thanks, Krileon. I harbor the thought that, since the Joomla 5 team removed the native ReCAPTCHA plugin, this may have something to do with the issue, but I'm probably incorrect. I have turned off Auto Block as you suggest.
I had turned it on years and versions ago to reduce the possibility that a non-U.S. Navy veteran might try to register a user account with our site (usncva.org/).
