CB does not have a password column. Verify within your database that _comprofiler does not have a password column. If it does then delete it. Passwords are exclusively stored in _user and their storage is entirely handled by Joomla.
If there is no password column then it sounds like a table desync. Run the synchronize users tool in CB > Tools and retry to see if your issue persists.
