Groups Structure was created by adhillon
Can we deliver the following with CB?
  • A tree structure of groups is required.
  • The tree comprises three levels.
    1. National
    2. Provincial
    3. Local
  • Each level is to have an assigned moderator
  • A group of moderators are required at the top (National) level.
Please advise how this could be best implemented.

Groups structure for what exactly? CB GroupJive or do you mean from a View Access Level / Usergroup structure? What permissions do these moderators need to have?

The organization has a few hundred groups, one in each major city. Members of each group interact and post in their group. Each Province (state) has many Cities.
Each 'City Group' has a leader who can add and manage members. I assume a group moderator will be required.
Each 'Province Group' has a leader who can administer all 'City Groups' in that Province. I assume a moderator will be required for each Province.
Lastly a National moderator will be required to manage all Provinces and Cities.
Re. your question, we will need the proper access control and Usergroup structure.

I'm still not sure what you mean when referring to groups.

Do you mean groups in CB GroupJive? If so those don't require any special ACL structures you'd be able to just use GJ group user moderator and administrator permissions for management of their groups. This would be relatively easily doable as you'd just need those moderators/administrators to be a member of the groups they oversee.

If you mean management over profiles then no this isn't really doable as our moderator permissions is "all or nothing" so you can't assign someone to be a cb moderator over a specific set of users at this time, but it's planned for CB 3.0.

referring back to my older queries regarding Communities, I have always assumed that a Community (our lingo) is a UserGroup (your lingo) that is managed by an assigned Moderator. Is that correct?

How about this scenario:
A senior moderator (Admin) creates a UserGroup called Group-A for GroupJive.
The Admin (owner) then invites members to join the UserGroup Group-A.
The Admin assigns a user as the moderator of Group-A.
The Admin repeats procedure for a new group, Group-B.

Possible?
