Strange, both go through the same endpoint and send emails the same way. Are you sure it's not just in the spam folder?
I also recommend disabling CBs forgot login behavior in favor of using Joomla's. We're removing it in CB 3.0 and just going to use Joomla's. You can do this within CB > Configuration > General by setting "Forgot Login Method" to "Joomla".

Well... it WAS set to Joomla - setting it to Community Builder, then the lost password works, but then setting it back to Joomla - nothing is recieved, also not in spam.
When it's set to Joomla it's entirely handled by Joomla and not by CB. So I've no idea what could be preventing Joomla's from sending the email. Possibly a configuration problem somewhere like the email subject or body being translated to empty string? I'm not sure.
