I don't see anything mentioned in their documentation about it being deprecated so I'm not sure what to suggest beyond contacting Google. Will review adding support for bypassing calling the People API and constructing a user object from the OAuth response, but it will contain very very limited information (usually just name and maybe email address).

Ok, a new CB Connect build release is now available. Within CB Connect > Parameters > Google > Application you can now toggle "OpenID Connect" to "Yes". This will use OpenID Connect endpoint to request profile data bypassing the People API requirement. This however has substantially less information available. It can only provide the following: id, name, email, and profile picture. Please give this a try and see if it will be suitable for your needs.
