Solved/ CB Gallery: Rotation of pictures

This is just for my information. Many photos uploaded from smartphone are not in the proper orientation and need to be rotated by 90° or 180° but they can't anticipate from their smartphone so, it is only while displaying the photo in gallery that we see the reeel orientation. However, it is not possible to change this orientation. 

For a dvelopper, what should be the difficulty to add such feature ( a button to rotate image by 90%) ?

EXIF orientation is already respected. In both client side and server side uploads. So if they took their photo with a mobile device and uploaded it should orientate correctly, but from a previous post I recall you turned off always resampling so some images probably aren't being resampled and thus this behavior can possibly be bypassed.

Aside from that what you're asking for already exists. Open a photo then view the dropdown menu for it where you'll see menu options to rotate a photo left or right and you can do so as many times as you need.

Yes, I noticed now. 

Some users do not understand why they need to rotate their image ( as result of Exif Orientation data as you said) while it is correct on thumbnails. This is typical to smartphones pictures !
Do you have in your plan to check the Exif orientation in order to avoid the concern ? 

We already support EXIF orientation. As explained in another topic you turned off resampling. If resampling is turned off then images are only processed if they need to be resized otherwise they're just direct copy. If you always resample images their EXIF data will be checked and rotated accordingly. Client side resizing will also rotate the images before passing them through to be uploaded. Thumbnails are correct because you probably didn't turn resampling off for thumbnails and only turned it off for photos.

Indeed i turned ON resampling since you adviced me to do so in, a former topic. In my understanding there is only 1 toggle for resampling images which is in generale configuration of CB (just under choice of image processor) - But as per the quote below, Is there another resampling switch for thumbnails ?

Thumbnails are correct because you probably didn't turn resampling off for thumbnails and only turned it off for photos.
