The last CB Gallery release was 1 month ago and it didn't touch access permissions. It was a upload limit bug fix. The release before that fixed a moderator check bug. So I'd need to have a better idea of what version you updated from and to as well as when to pinpoint potential changes.
Most likely the issue is you've changed a configuration somewhere that resulted in a permission check being applied causing nothing to display. Profile galleries can be tricky as there's a pretty large chain of access checks. The chain should be as follows for profile galleries.
1. CB > Plugin Management > CB Gallery
2. CB Gallery > Galleries > Gallery > Access
3. CB > Configuration > User Profile > Profile View Access Level
4. CB > Tab Management > Gallery > Access
5. CB > Field Management > Profile Privacy
6. CB > Tab Management > Gallery > Integrations > CB Privacy
Any one of those could impact access as we try to respect all levels of access parameters throughout CB as much as possible and while it does mean having to be sure everything is properly accessibility it prevents potential security risk. From there it's just published states checking (e.g. is media pending, etc..).
