Thanks. It didn't occur to me that being within a field group might be the cause.
I can confirm that the default is applied correctly when outside a field group. But not inside.
Ok, CB Field Groups 2.1.4 is now available with registration defaults for fields inside of field groups now fixed. Thank you for letting us know!
