Hello,

I'm trying to install CB User Search,

What I've done :

Install the plug in CB user Search
activate it and joomla smart search
Component -> Indexation : I have desactivated everything that is not a profile, but there is not the custom field I want to filter
Create a menu link

Now I can use the search to find profile, but :
it finds me different profiles that is not just the one I'm searching, (cf screenshot)
+ I would like to configure the "search Type" to chose between the type "profile" or a a custom field in the profile.  I've seen in this link that it is possible to configure it but I don't understand with the screenshot cropped in the article where is the page to configure it  CB User Search

+ Do I have to often do a "Component -> Indexation" or this is automatic for new profiles ?

Thank you for helping me,
Have a good day,
Lionel

On first install you should navigate to System > Manage > Plugins and edit "Smart Search - Users" and configure what fields to index under the Index tab. Once done publish the following.

Smart Search - Users
User - Smart Search

Now navigate to Components > Smart Search > Index and click the Index button followed by the Index dropdown option. This should force a first time index on your content and index your existing users. From then onwards you don't need to do anything as it'll index automatically at registration time or profile edit.

As for how it finds users that's entirely on Joomla. It'll match the keyword against indexed keywords.
