Ok, also confirmed module filters are working fine in my tests. Please PM backend super administrator login credentials and frontend credentials where the issue can be seen (if provided backend login does not have the issue) and will take a look as it could be something installed just conflicting.

Do note that this temporary admin account doesn't have many connections. I hope that's not an issue for testing?

Ok, I see the issue. The filter is actually working. There's just no activity entries that meet the filters criteria, but it's not properly handling an empty ajax response and causing the filter to become active. It should at least respond with "No activity to display." so the ajax response can handle making that filter active, but since there is no ajax response it thinks the ajax request failed entirely so it does as designed and reverts its state. Have added a bug ticket to fix.

Hello,

I was just wondering... while I also suspected it would be something like what you said turned out to be the issue (especially when I tested with the test account with just a few connections), there's something else I noticed:

When I try to use the filters with my main account on the website, it happens too. The thing is that my main account has nearly 2000 connections. So it's impossible that none of those connections (which is the majority of the website) ever did an activity in a group, uploaded something to the gallery, etc. So when I go to e.g. "Group Posts" or "Gallery Posts", I should be getting at least some relevant results. In fact, a user in my connections added a photo to their gallery only yesterday, but in "Gallery Posts" everything just keeps showing as with the previously clicked on filter. (when not using "connections" in the parameters, the relevant gallery or group posts do show up).

Hello again,

I just updated all the plugins to the latest versions.

The issue you had found is resolved: when nothing is supposed to be displayed, it doesn't show anything anymore (although it might be a good idea to instead display a text "No posts to show" or something of the sort? Just an idea).

However, this hasn't resolved my issue completely, as some filters should definitely still show something but they don't. For example:

My test account is connected with my admin account. My admin account has made a post on the forum.

When logged in with my test account and just using the standard filter "All", the forum post of my admin account appears without a problem. So when I go to the filter "Forum Posts", that same post should still appear. But it doesn't, it just shows no posts.

The settings I have for this filter are:


Filter: Forum Posts
Assets: kunena.%
Users: connections
Access: Registered

The same goes for filters like "Group Posts", "Gallery Posts" and "Wall Posts". Also on my admin account, which has nearly 2000 connections with inevitably some activity related to groups, gallery or just the wall itself, these filters show nothing. All of them, they are using the parameter "connections" for "Users". The filters that work with other parameters (such as "My Forum Posts" with [user_id]) does appear to work fine.
