If you are on Joomla 1.5.x or 1.6.x, then you can just install over.

Hello,
I use CB 1.7 with joomla 1.5.23. I've upgrade it from CB 1.4 with the installer. I did not delete the CB 1.4 before because the manual dont say something like that.
With CB 1.7 I recognized a problem with the email checker in the backend. When I want to change some Userdates an go to the save-button, CB shows "error" in the email checker.
I know that there a some problems with this in CB 1.4.
BUT, this error only appears in firefox 5. I tested it with IE 7 and IE 9, the are no problems. With Opera 11.5 I cant't see any check process.
The changes will be stored in the datebase anyway. The database is ok, too.

Does CB 1.7 allow for a greater number of CB user fields than CB 1.4? I recall a posting in another forum topic regarding increasing available user fields in future updates.
Thanks~

Hi!
I upgraded my joomla to 1.7
Now, my Component > Community Builder doesn't work. If I activate some CB module, the site goes down.
What I have to do?
I have to upgrade my CB to 1.7 version?
I have to unistall my CB and install 1.7 CB version?

Hello and welcome to our forums!
Before you upgrade you should backup - did you?
Before you upgrade you should check if all your installed extensions are Joomla 1.7 compatible? Well CB 1.4 was not and you most likely have more that are not.
Download CB 1.7 - its free and install over.

I have
Joomla 1.6.6
PHP 5.2.17
I have tried both CB 1.4 and 1.7 (several times each loading, clearing the db and then reloading, even tried it not clearing the db) and in each instance I get the same result, I can see the comprofiler files in the db and in the Manage section of Extension Manager but I cannot get it to appear in the Components menu so I am unable to configure it unless I choose to do it through the db.
I have checked and have no warnings.
If I delete via the Extension Manager - Manage then I get the following message -
Could not delete the administrator menus.
PLEASE can you help me I really have no idea where else to look
